Media monitoring serviceMedia monitoring serviceWe include media monitoring and reporting as part of our PR consultancy, but can also offer this to other companies, freelancers and small agencies requiring a cost-effective service. Media coverage in quality publications is often behind a paywall, meaning that unless you subscribe to the newspaper or magazine then you will need a press cuttings service to read these articles. We are able to offer a keyword search on print and online media via a third-part media monitoring business, supported by a Google search to pick up further coverage online. Reporting The results are presented in a report suitable for presenting to a client and includes: Coversheet with client logo Summary of the coverage achieved in date order by subject (or press release) – this enables you to see quickly which publications and journalists are reporting on your story. Title of publication, readership/reach and advertising equivalent (ie if you had placed an advert of a similar size). Although earned media is more influential than owned or paid for media, having a cost gives an indication of the value of that space. Each article that has appeared in a readable format. The report is provided to a single point of contact for reference only and is subject to copyright; it may not be copied, shared or otherwise reproduced even for internal purposes, unless permitted by a CLA Licence granted to you or authorised by the copyright owner. The report will be deleted one month after it has been provided. Note: licensing laws are very strict and all organisations require a permit from the NLA and CLA to reproduce copyrighted material. Requirements for media monitoring To ensure that you are receiving relevant coverage we would require the following information: Name of organisation and a description of the products or services, and geographic reach Name of a spokesperson who might be quoted in an article, such as the CEO or product specialist Two other keywords – such as product names Any keywords to exclude – for example if your CEO shares a name with a famous footballer, to exclude stories about football. You may want to provide a copy of your media distribution list and we will check that these publications are covered by the service. Cost Service starts at £65 a month for organisation name and two other keywords, for a minimum of three months. This includes up to 25 cuttings a month; further cuttings charged at 20p each.
